Content Management Systems

Content Management Systems

Do you want to be able to add content to your own website?

Content Management Systems (CMS) give the website owner the flexibility to control their own content. Pages can be easily added and the website can grow as your business grows. You will not need to have html editing skills in order to publish or change text as you edit through a "what you see is what you get" (WYSIWYG) editor.

The website is edited through an administration side which is accessed through a web browser so anyone with the right authority will be able to make changes to it. It can even be configured so that any alterations or amendments have to be approved before publication on the web, ensuring that all content can be managed by a specific person or team within your company but also allowing flexibility for any of your employees to create and submit the content.

Content which is time bound can be set to appear and disappear from the website so you are able to place content on in advance and ensure that it is removed at the correct time with no effort.

This means that a web designer/developer would not have to be employed to alter the website thus saving costs over time.

CMS's can have many features such as:

  • Blog
  • Chat
  • Classifieds
  • Testimonials
  • FAQ Management
  • Charts
  • Guestbook
  • Link Management
  • Newsletter
  • Photo Gallery
  • Polls
  • Search Engine
  • Surveys

...to name but a few.

It's simply a case of deciding what you need or want to be in your content management system. You also have the flexibility to have further functions added at a later date.

Prices start from £899 and increase according to the Content Management Systems function requirements.

I have produced most websites using Concrete5 and Wordpress, however, I have in the past also used Joomla and Drupal at customers request.

  • Concrete5 is one of the easiest content management systems on the market
  • It's ease of editing makes it my preference for my clients.
  • It is highly flexible and can be configured for most website requirements

  • Wordpress powers nearly 35% of all websites and is the most popular content management system.
  • It is a very flexible system and has masses of plugins to expand the systems capabilities.
  • If set up correctly it can be quick to load and is search engine optimisation ready
